The purpose of this assignment is to assist you in becoming familiar with the various 12-step programs that are available to clients in their recovery.

You will first choose 2 of the organizations below:

1. Sexual Compulsives Anonymous: http://www.sca-recovery.org/

2. Sexual Addicts Anonymous: http://sexaa.org/

3. Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous: http://www.slaafws.org/

4. Sexaholics Anonymous: http://www.sa.org/

5. Sexual Recovery Anonymous: http://www.sexualrecovery.org/

6. Recovering Couples Anonymous: http://www.recovering-couples.org/

You will next collect the answers to these questions from each of the two organizations you have chosen.

1. To whom are the meetings of the organization open?

2. What is the stated purpose(s) of the organization?

3. Where are the nearest meetings from your location?

4. What are some of the publications available from the organization?

5. What is some of the latest news from the organization?

Please note: You should actually answer the questions. It is not enough to say the information can be found on the website. That is your task.

You will then choose to create one of these:

1. A 4 page paper in current APA format

2. A PowerPoint presentation

3. A pamphlet (using Word or Publisher)

Paper Instructions:

*****Write a 3 -4 -page paper in current APA format (no abstract needed), addressing each question for the 2 organizations initially chosen. You should include a title page and reference page. (An abstract is not required.)

PowerPoint Instructions

*****Your presentation must be completed in Microsoft PowerPoint and must include the following:

· At least 10 slides (not counting the title slide or reference slide);

· A script (at least 50 words for each slide) as a guide for presenting the information
The script should not be on the slide itself, but in the “notes” section for each slide for a presenter to use when providing the information to a group.

 

 

· All of the questions should be answered for each of the two groups chosen.

· A title page and a reference page (in addition to the 10 slides of the actual presentation).

Pamphlet Instructions: 

Your pamphlet may be constructed in either Microsoft Publisher or Microsoft Word and must have an attractive, appealing design. It may be bi-fold or tri-fold, but it must include the following:

· Information on both sides of the paper;

· 8 ½ X 11 or 8 ½ X 14 paper size;

· All of the questions should be answered for each of the two groups chosen.

· A separate reference page to be submitted with the pamphlet.

The presentation or pamphlet should be designed to provide information to a community or church group about resources available for sexual addicts. 

Make sure to document your sources in current APA format.
