1. You are about to conduct a Survey on “Students Perception of Safety on Virginia State University Campus”

Your population is “Students at VSU”

i. What type of sampling design would you use to select your sample and explain why?

ii. Construct a questionnaire for your survey: Your questionnaire must include examples of questions that represent open-ended questions (2 examples), closed-ended questions (2 examples), matrix questions (2 examples), and contingency questions (2 examples). 

2. For each of the open-ended questions listed below, construct closed-ended questions that could be used in a questionnaire.

a.       What was your family’s total income last year?

b.       How do you feel about shock incarceration or “boot camp”

            programs?

c.       How do people in your neighborhood feel about the police?

d.       What do you feel is the biggest crime problem facing your community?

e.       How do you protect your home from burglary?
