The Theory of Bureaucratic caring focuses on caring in organizations; caring is contextual and is influenced by organizational structure. The caring practice involves a connection, mutual recognition, and involvement between nurse and client and enables peoples to create meaning in their lives. When clients perceive the encounter to be caring, their sense of dignity and self-worth is increased, and feelings of connectedness are expressed. Common caring patterns include: knowing the client, nursing presence, empowering the client, compassion, and competence. In the other hand, the framework of the Theories of successful aging includes: chronic illness allowed, but limited disability and multi-dimensional perspective.

Elements of successful aging include physical health, cognitive, social, and productive functioning; this organizational structure influences the theory of bureaucratic caring. This theory can be related to the Essential II: Organizational and Systems Leadership. This essential recognizes that organizational and systems leadership are critical to the promotion of high quality and safe patient care. Leadership skills are needed that emphasize ethical and critical decision making, effective working relationships, and a systems perspective; the practice of the Master Essential II also can help us to apply this theory safely, prevent diseases and get better outcomes.

The theory of Bureaucratic caring  was developed in 1981 by Marilyn Ray and  is viewed as a grounded theory.Subsequently the   theory of successful aging states  that optimal aging occurs when individuals participate in activities, pursuits, and relationships. Additionally it is understood that optimal aging occurs when, ”  The theory of Successful Aging deals with the process that people have to go through before they can stop being active in the society” (In Smith, 2015). Moreover the similarities between the Theory of Bureacratic Varing and the Theory of Successful Aging lie in the fact that they both involve care and place significant emphasis on care. This ensures that the patients are well taken care of and are assisted and provided with optimal care. Moreover the Bureaucratic caring theory correlates to the AACN Masters Essentials because it provides a formula that assists with understanding how nursing can take place in a contemporary health care setting and this is achieved by highlighting the importance of spiritual and ethical caring as it relates to organizations , cultures , economies and other Aspects of Health policy and advocacy
