Roads and highways system. Instructions:

Think of the roads and streets you use regularly. How is the roads and highways system an example of federalism? (Which level of government is responsible for which roads, etc.?)

List two advantages and two disadvantages of unitary and confederate forms of government.

Explain the advantages and disadvantages of federalism. Apply each of these to a political issue such as the death penalty. Does the federal system make this issue easier to resolve?

Recognize why Americans chose federalism, and summarize its advantages and disadvantages.

Describe how federalism works—and how it has evolved.

I highly recommend using Google Docs (Drive) to compose offline, as Google plays well with web-based forums. If you are using Microsoft Word to compose offline, you may need to do some editing to the format when you paste it into the reply.
